Ming Lee viaburleskateer: “Another example of a venue manager ‘customizing’ the original publicity photo for use in newspaper ads, etc. The bra & panty was added with a small ink pen.”

Alouette LeBlanc via burleskateer: “Born in 1932, Alouette was raised in rural Montana. She ran away from home at 14, to escape abusive parents. She got her start in Burlesque working as a cooch dancer with a travelling Carnival Tent show. Eventually, landing steady work along the Bourbon Street nightclubs in New Orleans; she was billed as a newly-arrived star direct from Paris’ FOLIES BERGERE. Her act was renowned for her acrobatic, tassel-twirling abilities!”

Angel Carter   aka. “The Sex Goddess of Polynesia”..

Vivian Cournoyer was born and raised in England; and was blessed with what Burly-Q producers would term: “a swell setup..” ie. a dazzling 36H-22-35 figure! She was a regular dancer at Hollywood’s ‘BODY SHOP’ club, thru the 1960’s.. She also appeared (uncredited) in a handful of feature films.

Featured here, posing for a publicity shot with actor James Garner, for the 1968 film: “The Pink Jungle”; in which she had a small dance cameo..

Evelyn Whitney appears on the cover of the December 30th issue of ‘The Mutual Burlesquer’ magazine; published in 1929.. I’m assuming it’s a program guide forecasting shows playing on the “Mutual Wheel” of Burlesque theatres..
